Nepo Baby Actually Prefers Person-First “Baby Experiencing Nepotism”

In a touching Instagram story earlier this morning, 22-year-old nepo baby Charlotte Kennedy Rockefeller-Boeing fiercely pushed back against the use of the term “nepo baby” to describe celebrity children like herself. Instead, she urged the community to adopt the more person-first, trauma-informed label: “baby experiencing nepotism.”

“Reducing someone to a ‘nepo baby’ is dehumanizing and erases the complexity of my lived experience, which typically includes lots of trips to European beaches, cocaine, and designer coats,” Rockefeller-Boeing said.

Rockefeller-Boeing explained that the term “baby experiencing nepotism” is preferred because it acknowledges the structural forces at play, like “my dad’s yacht, my dad’s Paris penthouse, my dad’s private island, and so many other important structures.”

“I worked really hard to earn my job after graduation, and it would be nice for people to recognize that,” she added. “My dad said he selected me because my application was outstanding and my interview went perfectly.”

“I just want people to understand that I’m just like everyone else,” she concluded, “Well, except for the fact that I’m exceptionally beautiful, well dressed, and super fucking loaded.”
